I quit the circuit, I hung up my saddle and spurs- I’d followed my dreams, and now it was time to chase hers. I’d saved up some money, so we put in down on a home… Who would have ever believed that I’d live here alone? I got a job breaking broncs, on the Triangle T… I’d come in worn out, and there she’d be waiting for me. Dinner and dancing, “Let’s go to a show”! “Let’s take off and go for a drive”. We’d come in, me dragging- And tired to the bone, and wake up just barely alive. She started complaining, of my lack of interest, in all of things that she sought. My low paying labor, long hours in the saddle, of presents that I had not bought. She said, “You were dashing, romantic, and handsome, and always had money to spend. But you’re growing duller each month that we’re married, It’s time that it’s come to an end”. Thirty-six months, seven days, and an hour or two- It sure ain’t no record, but that’s just how long I had you. You never write, and I’m sure you won’t call, I don’t know what I’d say if you do- Thirty-six months, seven days and some change, a lifetime that I spent with you. "You come into this life crying, while the world rejoices. Your goal in life should be to live it in such a fashion, as to leave this world rejoicing, |

Oh! What can I say, this is so well written, and expressed beautifully. A whole lifetime written in those few words, it seems so sad that two people can start walking in different directions so soon. Take care and remember to smile, because things can only get better. Marsha |
