A Letter To My Heart Take care my heart, hold fast your ground, Let not these sorrows, weigh you down. Just you and I, my trembling heart, In quiet darkness, we depart, On journey through this endless maze, We've built upon our tortured days. Beyond the guise of happiness, Intrude the woes of emptiness; Alone amongst these thoughts are we, In silent void of misery. I urge you, beat your rhythm fair, To overcome this deep despair; Do not grow silent lest we fall, And find ourselves succumbed to all. 'Tis in these times, we persevere, While beg the pain to disappear; Though long before the night is through, I fear this ache shall smother you. Take hold my heart, and carry on, 'Tis only hours before the dawn. /Kit McCallum |

You have penned an amazing piece of work in this and I can only hope for you that this is not because of things going on now. If so then you have taken the first step to healing and "A Letter To My Heart"...what a unique letter indeed. |

Dear Kit; Exquisitely written poem! I have been in this place of which you speak, and God heals! Love, Ellie Summers haunting melody that awakens the butterflies, calling them to join the dance in their silent song of praise to God. eL |

Kit, That's a good idea. I find myself troubled too, at times. I got up around 0300 this morning. I'll have to write to myself and see if it helps. Thanks, Melton |

Kit this is an amazing write. Absolutely perfect, I love it all but if I had to pick a couple of lines they would be Take hold my heart and carry on 'Tis only hours before the dawn Utterly brilliant writting, and remember if you need a shoulder to lean on give me a yell. I might not be much use but I'd try and I can listen like a professional ear. Take care Marsha ![]() ![]() a couple of smiles in case you need them. Beyond the guise of happiness, Intrude the woes of emptiness; ========== bleh... (speechless) I feel the same.. here is a stanza from one of my own... ====== Someone held the door open for me today i smiled and said thanks. "no problem" feel i have to be cheerful on the face of it at least ====== I feel like I have two levels of moods - what others see, and how I actually feel, like some kind of "underlying" mood.. http://www.geocities.com/i_love_you_so_much_c/ |

Kit, Writing from the heart is so beautiful and honest . . . I love it. I would be broke also without pen and paper. Writing is the best therapy in the world. Hope you are feeling better and that there are more highs than lows in your future my friend. ![]() Lone Wolf Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |
