I am reposting this poem...because of the need for more then my prayers...the baby is now in isolation with an infection...thank you for the power that comes from many! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A Prayer for Life Life is so fragile, its delicate arm is made of velvet and it breaths in muted cords fluttering with the harp cascading notes like questions into the small space that comforts. Nestled in a cocoon of softest flannel I touched it today with a finger oh so large and callused and not nearly clean enough from scrub to disinfect the longing that her skin absorbed or to sponge the fabric of tears that tore me back into another room with more tubes and breath a machine that pulled and pushed when all around said stop and let the spirit that is rising go. In that soft fingertip of love I held my heart and prayed again for it has been so long in coming, so long since I prayed for life I pray now. |

Add mine to that list and it will grow...just as Bill has said. I am getting pretty good at the prayers lately and I will not let you nor the baby down on this end. Lovely sentiments in the verse you shared and that shows your heart. Hugs my friend...many hugs of comfort to you and all concerned. |

For those of you who don't know...this baby was induced to be born before she was ready do to the mother's illness...she weighed 2 1/2 pounds...she has been doing well until she developed an infection... I touched her the day she was born and it affected me greatly...thus the poem. She is the baby of a friend. Thank you so much for all your prayers...I will let my friend know how many are praying for her and keep you posted. |

martie~ please know my prayers are with this little one. and also with their family. they will be in my thoughts as well. my mom is in heaven and i truly believe she is an angel. so tonight and everynight till the kid is better i will make a special prayer to her and God. The baby's infection was caused by an I V that somehow was contaminated ...they are checking to see if the infection is systemic (or in the blood), which would be very serious, it takes 48 hours to complete the test...so your continued good thoughts and prayers are appreciated greatly....thank you! |

Bit late i know martie, but better late than never. A lovely poem which can only do good, and help to channel prayers in the right direction for a happy outcome - i'm sure glad to hear things are improving .. p |
