Looking back some twenty years
I think fondly, my first love
She hung the sky for me

We were young and in control
We thought we’d always be
Through seasons brings anew

I remember holding hands
And feeling born alive
Kiss me and then goodbye

Tomorrow comes she is there
She held her hand for me
I shook it, said goodnight

She was feeling sad for me
She left one autumn eve
We were holding tight

It rained some time back then
Forecasted in my life
I had no time to cry

In the street I was all wet
To her name no reply
Quiet was the world

I saw her by a shady bar
She called her husband out
Five years passed us by

I didn’t mean to find her there
Now both of us, we had to cry
Neither could embrace

Still, I touched her on the cheek
She placed her hands on mine
Vows shared in that look

We can never be apart
Soul mates can’t always be
Her husband never came

I look above, the sun is full
The sky is hung for me
We hold hands in love

What makes it last so long
When seemed not meant to be
Hands holding us in love

We will always be.
Seasons bring anew.
My wife, I whisper in your ear
Forever I love you...

You really don't want me to say it do you?
I didn't think so! hehehe

Walt you've melted hearts here! This is fantastic, romantic, and OH so touching!!

It came out just beautifully, and showing the tender heart you have, not to mention the love. I agree with Nan, you are very versatile in what you write.  That's a great gift to have.

My hat goes off to you as I bow!

Very fine indeed Walt...(though I always blame Bob Seger)
