State of constant confusion!

0 posted 2000-10-11 04:40 PM

Time stood still on
that dark and stormy night
Heaven's gates opened wide
for him to make his final flight
He lived such a short life
yet he accomplished oh so much
Kinda makes me wonder if he knew
how many lives he would touch

His music is still alive
and growing every day
There'll never be anyone
who can do it quite that way

He took his heart and soul
and poured them into every word
And if you listen close enough to any song today
a little bit of Hank can still be heard

There's a little bit of Hank Williams
in every one of us
Nothing can tug the heart strings
the way his music does

And every time I hear the cry
of a lonesome whipperwhil
I'll always think of him
and the day that time stood still

The eerie haunting sounds
of "Men With Broken Hearts"
That's a lonely story
that could melt your "Cold, Cold Heart"

If you're heading down that "Lost Highway"
and you've fallen from your stride
Open your eyes 'cause he may be
sending you "A Picture From Lifes Other Side"

This is a wonderful tribute to him, Jeffrey! I'm sure he has touched many many hearts and will continue to do so through his music!

...and I, for one, am very glad you shared this...

it is always important to know and acknowledge who put before you your dreams...

Jeffrey

I understand the joy, peace, pleasure, and inspiration that an artist can pass on to the hearer of his work, and I'm glad to have read your poem telling of you appreciation of Hank's craft.

Cheers
Jon

Thank you all for the wonderful replies
