Years, weeks, days Hours, minutes, seconds A lifetime spent Waiting, Words on a page A time, a place, a family Strangers to the mind Love, loss, promise A tragic story, I linger on your words Searching for answers Greeted by ambivalence Word, syllable, breath Your last, Seems too soon A presence just discovered Alone again Ink, paper, images Once yours, Now mine, Proof of what I lost Evidence of undying love? As I sit, Emotions elude me Voice fails me Body shakes Tears flow Wondering what it all means |
