I watch the wood with him, in silence... Wonder, does he see shift of the shadow? if the limb of that tall tree, tosses grenade, a breeze to flee? I watch his eyes, traces--fear-- (silent, I am not welcome here...) But still I am, to hold his hand, futile, but to wipe a tear.... A sideways glance to see his eyes in flash of love, life compromised? His heart, a mine-field, but away, (I'll never know how it got that way...) Feeling tremor in his hands, I squeeze too tight to understand... He has never left that land. And we can never understand. |

This is very sad and we will never understand what these men went through and how they will ever get over it, sadly many don't. thanks for sharing this with us Tracie~ Keep all the windows of your mind open Anne Rooks |

I watch his eyes, traces--fear-- (silent, I am not welcome here...) But still I am, to hold his hand, futile, but to wipe a tear... ------------------ only you could write such a beautiful, serene and peacful poem about such a painful subject. this is perfect and tender... much like the poet.*smile* miss ya when your gone... take care me twin of emotions jm Is it too much to find an answer, Is it too much to hold you close. Is it too much to find a reason, Is it too much to free my soul -- From self control ... And I know you're always waiting for me ... You take me far away, And I know you're holding me ... And it's better now ... ~vertical horizon~ |

Very touching. Although none of us can ever truly understand a situation this profound without actually having been there, words like yours help us advance toward that end to a small degree. |

Serenity~ This was so tenderly done. Sometimes we can only offer our silence ... but with love ... it whispers softly to the core of the haunted soul. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

beautifully done serenity ... the Vets need a hand to hold and a friend to talk to ... although the talking is usually to take the mind off the subject ... it's better to talk of something else other wise great depression sets in and it's hard to shake Rex}>{{{{o> |
