Is revenge what Negroes want? We don’t believe so. They just want freedom. They crav for justice. They want equality! And they deserve it. They feel exhausted From blaming themselves For their color. They no longer want to cry out: “Oh God! Why did you Paint our skins black?” |

Freedom and justice - if only everyone could be given these gifts! They sound like golden goblets and silver spoons to me. Unatainable. * * * * Your poem is completely understandable by anyone in pain. So many other questions can haunt like ghosts around a human being - like why was I born in emptiness, taught terror, and raised with mental illness as a parent, because my parents could not help it? * * * * This society did not accept me either, when the minutes and hours and years changed me to an adult. |
