The Stage ~First Knight~ On the stage.... It's there that you stood. With your leading man, him acting.... He's good. Never a line to flub, or a cue to miss. He's quite the actor, just look at him kiss. So many rehearsals, with just the right moves. "Master of the puppets", he stays in his grooves. He can please in a moment, and be your heart's fire. Be all you need, your one true desire. I in the crowd.... watching each move. Everyone smiled, he was so smooth. He led the show, stage full of light. He played his part, with you in delight. The crowd did stand, and clap to the show. But your were not acting, they did not know. And.... when the curtain fell, So did you. You left alone, there in plain view. Now the show is over, your life all apart. He just an actor, playing his part. As I dare watch, wanting his place. to share in your love, to live in your grace. But he was the lead, and I just a prop. And you his "puppet" Dropped like a rock. But.... Your the great prize, that he left behind. My one great love, your heart is now mine. Now I stand by you, on this stage called life.... Never to leave, Will you be my wife? A man does not love a woman because she is beautiful...But she is beautiful because he loves her. |

Wow! at first I thought of Romeo and Juliet, then I looked upon the poem as modern day, I loved it...the imagination...it kept me going! |

I enjoyed this too, First Knight, and especially the traditional question at the end... Very romantic! ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

Thank you........I was just sitting around thinking and this came to me. Seems in life to many actors.....and sometimes the real good persons are left out on the sidelines to watch the show. And it had to have a good ending A man does not love a woman because she is beautiful...But she is beautiful because he loves her. |

David, It's always a pleasure to see your work and sometimes we get so caught up in the drama we forget the real people behind the scenes. It's nice to know there's always a true friend waiting in the wings when the final curtain has fallen. Masquerade I hid behind a mask Painted smiles Covered tears Hidden scars The image in the mirror Always reflecting Someone I didn’t even recognize There in my costume I felt safe Life, my greatest act You saw beyond the masquerade Demanded I reveal The person underneath the mask I shuddered to think My life revealed My faults bared That you may not like what you see But when the final velvet curtain fell When I took my final bow When the masquerade had ended And my costume dropped to the floor... You were still there Waiting in the wings |
