~  I'm sorry that I love you  ~

I'm sorry that I love you
I do, but I must go -
Our lives are taking different paths...
I wish that it weren't so.

~ ~ ~

I'm sorry that I love you
I've searched for you so long -
Your heart belongs to someone else...
To love you more seems wrong.

~ ~ ~

I'm sorry that I love you
Forbidden, as we are -
Alas, I'll never have you, so...
I'll love you from afar.

~ ~ ~

I'm sorry that I let myself
fall in love this way -
There's always stipulations...
always something in the way.

I'm sorry that I cannot find
a love that has no strings -
that tangle us until we fall...
I curse the pain love brings.

I'm sorry that I love you...

~GD~

(sigh)  I know this piece is odd...really, it's my way of just "rambling" through the past, present, and future of those who held/hold my heart.  Does that make sense?  In each instance, there was something there that kept "it" from happening...???  At times, it gets so frustrating, you just want to say "sorry" and move on to the life of a Nun.     Unfortunately, I'm the type who doesn't give up, so I create much misery for myself!  I'm quite a stubborn thing!  LOL

wayoutwalt - - hehehe  Your comments always make me giggle...but I know you understand this piece.  I think everyone will relate to this one.

Devina - - Yeah...you understand too.  (sigh)  That 'ol song "Love Stinks" comes to mind.  LOL  Thanks for the encouragement though!

Gen - Love always has strings. One of the strengths of love is in the ability to love with the strings there.

Nothing in this world is free, I believe the saying is. THat includes love. Love is giving, caring for someone, despite or partially because of these limitations. Loving from afar is just as valid.

I'll quit lecturing and give you a smile   to show YOU that I love you too!

I'm sorry that my initials aren't in there anywhere...   I'm sorry that I can burn soup... I'm sorry that tap water tastes funny... I'm sorry that it rains... and as you can see, I'm sorry for quite a few things that I have no control over whatsoever.  So why appologize, sis?  Hugs.

I'm sorry that I love you,
When it's obvious to see,
Your heart for me is not true,
We just aren't mean to be.

I'm sorry that I love you,
With all my hearts desire,
You walked away and left me blue,
My heart's for you on fire.

Just thought I'd share

Knowing all too well what you mean Gen. . . I'll just leave it at that. . .

But, we do still pick up the pieces and try again don't we?

Great poem. . .
