To My Anam Cara You are the greatest blessing That my heart can ever know For the friendship between us Is purer than the purest snow. Your smile is like the sunshine Pouring from the heavens above Warming all the darkened corners Of my heart with brightest love. Your laughter is the bubbling Of the clearest brook or stream Gently soothing all my worries Into a fading silent dream. You give me strength to carry on When I am feeling weak For I know you are right beside me With every step I take. You always patiently listen To all my hopes and dreams I can even share my secrets For I know you will keep them for me. 'Tis truly the greatest honor, This friendship between you and me You will be my greatest treasure From now through eternity. Guys, To give just a little explanation, this poem's title comes from an old Celtic tradition. Anam is the Gaelic word for soul, and Cara is the Gaelic word for friend. Thus, an Anam Cara is a "Soul Friend", someone with whom you share absolutely everything. This is the truest friend you can ever have! ~you reached inside, you touched my heart, and I am all the better for it~ Terry A. Woodson, Jr. |

"'Tis truly the greatest honor, This friendship between you and me You will be my greatest treasure From now through eternity." Terry, your devotion is wonderfully conveyed with this lovely poem. ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

terry this is excellent. and very cool...I love the use of the celtic proverbs and their meanings lovely poem of friendship. very nice work here, take care, jm Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders And it makes me want to touch you there. And the light in your eyes makes me feel Like there's something much better out there Something kind... And I know someday I might be looking around Trying to find some purpose Well purpose it can't be that hard to find As long as I've got the wind... The wind and your love to carry me. vertical horizon |
