Ramblings Visions of Life’s candid stage Came dancing wildly ‘cross the page To tunes of childlike jingling chimes The course of life bounced into rhymes 'Twas not imagination’s spout From which the words came pouring out It was from heart’s rememberings That phrases bounced on puppet strings So quickly did the letters race My mind could hardly keep the pace They spun and tumbled out my pen Across the paper til the end I love when verses beg to ooze Into a pattern that you choose They’ve waited quietly in the wings Then hit the stage on sprightly strings Unrehearsed and unannounced The rhyming verses quickly pounced Others think you spent some time Conjuring up the perfect rhyme Words flow free when heart can’t hold The ramblings of a weathered soul Elizabeth Santos |

Sorry, I'm out of order here, that's how my mind is working today - upside down. Irish Rose, First of all, I love your pen name. And I also like the word ramblings. Thanks for your sweet reply. Sy, How do I do it? It's in the poem. A weary weathered soul has got lots to say Love Liz |

My soul is weary and weathered, so how come my ramblings don't come out sounding like yours? Love the poem, Liz...and you! |

By george, I do believe this is the perfect poem about poetry! It's a keeper, Elizabeth. But then, I find myself saying that about all your poems! Corinne |

Eagle Thanks for your comments. It does flow fast. One time I even dreamed a verse, then got up and quick wrote it! Now that's rambling! Balladeer, I don't think you ramble. Your verses are too perfect. Thanks for the remarks Beki, Thanks for the applause. Glad you like it Liz |

Elizabeth, we should all ramble like this!! I know what you mean by this poem. . .people have asked me, "How do you come up with this stuff?" and somehow, "It just came off the top of my head. . ." just doesn't seem to be the answer that they want to hear!! LOL This is excellent, as always. . . ---------------------------------------------------------------- That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |
