I wish I could, I want to tell, but dare I speak my name? For all the pain I would cause, my name would be to blame. And if this man was made aware, who am I to think he'd care? I'm not among the ladies fair, and so I shall not dare. I long to touch, I crave to hold, the man I rise only to behold. He does not know, he would not care if I was gone or if I'm there. If he knew, my death'd be relief and yet I love beyond relief. What is love? How to define? Only in poem, song, verse and line. I love to feel his presence resting tenderly an intoxicating fragrance, I breath him into me. His spirit is the essence or life itself to me and to be there in his presence is almost heavenly. If this not be called pure love, I know not what love be. Alone in silent acceptance I know, my love does not love me. |

There are no words that come to mind to explain how close this comes to my heart. Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece. |

Echo, this is beautiful, dear. "I love to feel his presence resting tenderly an intoxicating fragrance, I breath him into me." Unrequited love is so very painful, perhaps that is why we poets so often feel and write of it. Thank you for sharing this one. ~ Claire |

RS...You are most welcome. There are no words that come to your mind to explain how close this comes to your own life huh. Kind of like watching someone from a distance wishing they knew how you felt inside...yet never moving beyond the hand of friendship. I dunno, I cant explain it myself LoL. Claire...Perhaps that is why we often write about it...it is very painful and very common. I am sure out of a handful of people the entire handful has felt that pain at least once if not more =( Glad you liked it! I'm not waving, I'm drowning! |

Oh Melanie, your words grab my heart! Yes, my dear you have true love for this person, it is a shame they won't return it. They'll reap what they sow. For without love, they have nothing, for love is the greatest of all. For God is LOVE! Hugs to ya sweetie! I love ya, you know that ![]() <*\\\>< When you can't make up your mind, Which way is right for you, Stop and softly ask yourself, "What Would Jesus Do?" |

"If he knew, my death'd be relief and yet I love beyond relief." It is so nice to see you back, Echo! I am glad you are "beyond relief..." Hugs, Sunshine Look, then, into thine heart, and write ~~~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow |

Yes...a wonderfully sad poem. Seems sometimes that we all love someone that doesn't see us....so do we stand there, jumping up and down, trying to get their attention...or do we shrug our shoulders and walk away? I am the type that walks away..missing what might have been a wonderful relationship. But I figure if he can't see that I love him, then it wasn't meant to be. Fate is funny that way. We all have a clock inside us...our 'time' to shine ticks only when it's the right time...you're time will come...keep on ticking!!! ![]() |
