WindowpanesMorning sky in heavy languish, maiden moist with aching air as a broiling roll of canvas, once alive with passion's care for what long was daily drama, now hangs, is simply bare. What became of all my cloudy days of dreaming? Where might my lover tread, so ever solemnly to roam while I, now fallen futile to the honor of nights alone, gaze out from leaden windowpanes, only words to make my home. Who shall come to ease my blood from sorrow's steaming? Claire |

another so perfect and delicate poem Claire, I think that is what is my fav thing about your work, they have such a delicate, fragile quality about them. lovely, take care, jm Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders And it makes me want to touch you there. And the light in your eyes makes me feel Like there's something much better out there Something kind... And I know someday I might be looking around Trying to find some purpose Well purpose it can't be that hard to find As long as I've got the wind... The wind and your love to carry me. vertical horizon |

Ah, the frailty of the human heart. Such beautiful longing. Amazing how cold those windowpanes can become sometimes. Lovely poem, though. Michael |

Ah Claire, you can mold words in such a unique and stunning way like no one I've ever seen. You continue to be one of my most favorite poets. Once again, a beautiful masterpiece. *Krista Knutson* As soon as man does not take his existence for granted, but beholds it as something unfathomably mysterious, thought begins. ~*Albert Schweitzer*~ |

What became of all my cloudy days of dreaming? That line is a poem in itself, Claire. A pleasure to read, as usual. --Kess Full fathom five thy father lies, Of his bones are coral made, Those are pearls that were his eyes; Nothing of him that doth fade But doth suffer a sea-change Into something rich and strange... --William Shakespeare, from The Tempest |

Claire, like tiny crystalline that forms on the windowpanes, so are your words. . . they form on the heart, and leave their mark on the soul. . . Excellent poem, my friend. . . -------------------------------------------------------- That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |

I've not been able to spend much "quality" time here of late, but I am certainly grateful to each of you for taking the time to read. I'm glad there was something in this little poem that spoke to you. Thanks, in earnest, for all your kind words... ~ Claire |

You know I love your work, so I'll just choose the lines I like best.. "...while I, now fallen futile to the honor of nights alone, gaze out from leaden windowpanes, only words to make my home." |
