A Wish That Came True

So many couples, so many singles,
so many wedded, so much love
with shining stars bells and jingles
with hope and vows said, in the
Lord above.

So many tears, so many doomed,
so many broken hearts, so much love
life has consumed. Spit out kicked
and shoved, love left in despair.

With its victims embittered by
the whole affair. A search never
ending without prejudicial barrier.
This is love though sometimes a
sad and fatal carrier.

Once upon a wish, once upon a star,
once upon a time once in a while
love is happily ever after displaying
it’s very best in the best of
style.

I have felt the pain, I have cried the
tears, I have suffered much in
search of love. I have been married
for many years, patiently awaiting it
to carry me away on wings
of a dove.

Zapped by love’s “never ending quest”
I resigned myself: I’d given it my
very best, then suddenly; there it
was, right before my eyes, love so
heavenly instantly, I was
mesmerized.

The wish upon a star had finally
found a happily ever after,
after all.
