Spent a month of Sundays, as far from football as I could get, no chuches of whom Saul did beget, no fishin', no sturgeon with gill slit, but laying about, as time did permit, just chewin' tabaccy, stuff of true spit. Down by the lake, just coolin' it, drinkin' Southern Comfort, call me unfit, and workin' on that old juicy bit, chewin' that stuff of true spit. Don't call me home, I can't handle it, ain't got none of that real true grit. Corinne [This message has been edited by Corinne (edited 06-09-2000).] |

I don't know what grit tastes like but you make it sound like wonderful fun still I don't care much for tabaccy in any form. Southern comfort or any form of whiskey is a different story, the kiss of whiskey on my lips is sweet. In its warm embrace I am complete, drown my cares in sweet taste feel life gently fade and waste. Whiskey, whiskey in a glass false bliss that never lasts. well there is my effort, paled into comparsion by your wonderful poem. really enjoyed reading it. ------------------------ "I've been too honest with myself I should have lied like everybody else"-Richey Edwards "Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time". Baltimore Grotto "Libraries gave us power Then work came and made us free What price now for a shallow piece of dignity" Nicky Wire, A design for Life. manic street preachers "Rock 'n' roll is our epiphany Culture, alienation, boredom and despair" "To be nobody-but-yourself-in a world which is doing its best night and day, to make you everybody else - means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting." Spirits galore, vodka and gin, I sip with lemonade, a wide grin, Smiling my wretched face to oblivion, Distant figures, knock this head in union, Surrogate father of intoxication, true, I never could know what and how they brew, Chewing a bit of tobacco, the doorman grew old, Tales aplenty of drunks and drinks he told. Whiskey, Chivas, Jonnie Walker, rare, Wine, from the french champagne, white, Beer, they have from belgium, germany, fair, and blond ones too, makes a tee-toataller tight Living upto expectations of his clan's stare, Bosses ask for more, in shallow respect, not so bright, They live without no mercy nor care, Families booze destroy, lose life's fight... .............. Corinne, I dunno whats happening, maybe I am spaced out or something....writing is so cool these days, like Heiniken and Buds ale regards, sudhir < !signature--> My heart is pounding, my stomach's inside out I'm feeling kind-a-shaky, my mind is full of doubt All I ever think about, is fearing fear itself, Wish I could unscrew my head and put it on the shelf Everything is twisted, everything is oh so tight, Don't know what I'm looking at, the lights are all too bright My brain's about to crumble, spill out on the floor Sweep 'em up. Throw 'em away, don't want 'em anymore Clouds race across the sky, day turns into night, Still there are the questions, no answers in sight Everything is twisted, everything is oh so tight, Starin' out the window, everything is just too bright Brain's about to crumble, spill out on the floor, Wish I could unscrew my head, and kick it out the door...
