I Miss You

She waves farewell and softly fades from view
As morning raindrops pelt my windowsill.
Still one more day to sadly bid adieu
But one day more to love her as I will.
To greet the day alone with one recourse
I ache for her enchanting, limpid voice.
While firmly gripped by sadness and remorse
For one enslaved surrenders any choice.
But sure reward is patience manifest
And wait I must for just one searing kiss,
Withstanding what must be love's fiercest test
To wither in torrential heated bliss.

Each day anew I'll face this tiring plight
Until she lies beside me through the night.

David:

A worthy sonnet -- I was most impressed with the exactness of your iambic pentameter.  Rarely have I seen such flawless meter here.  Well done!

David

I know how you feel...
My girl just left for the summer, and the apartment is yet again an empty place...

"Each day anew I'll face this tiring plight
Until she lies beside me through the night"

Just what I´m thinking about, but it´s worth the wait...Trust me...

Ask me how to live your life, and this to you I´ll say: make your choises true and wise, so that when tomorrow will arise, you´ll smile at yesterday...

David2,

This one left me breathless.  I was utterly transported into the mind and heart of the poet.  It is bittersweet indeed to be separated from the one whom you adore and long to be with above all else.  It is during those times that one must rely on fond memories of sheer and perfect bliss...

Please do not stop adorning this site with your gorgeous words.

David2~
Sheer perfection of thought, meter and rhyme.
Delightful to the ear.

Yes I believe when you really care for someone absence can make the heart grow fonder...the desires long to share the pleasures only togetherness can bring.  James
