Oh No He is Graduating tis early morn I've been up all night today is special my heart is tight I've been blessed with three sons today my middle one class clown - child of my heart -always has a job but loves to play - today he graduates I can't sleep my mind is filled with caps and gowns and parents standing all around smiles, cameras pride in their sons and daughters and I will hope to be hoisted upon the shoulder of the tallest man in the crowd so I can see my son as he stands there proud graduation day my pride, my joy, no longer a little boy my young man as he imperiously knows he's "all that" as he reaches for his well deserved diploma, a symbol a sign that all will be well - tears of joy shall wash my face And, I will point out to all - that's my boy I have done my best to raise him well but in some areas I have really failed I can see him now my grown up imp A large grin pasted across his face and I have this dreadful feeling he will throw back his gown, drop his drawers and "moon" the crowd The tall man holding me will laugh so hard he will drop me right to the ground and people will stare then finally giggle or stand in silent shock, and say, "Oh, well it probably runs in the family." And, I will pick myself up and with a very stern face straighten my dress that flipped up then with grave dignity I will answer back, "How many times have I told you my son when in public you must keep your pants on?" Gosh, no wonder I can't sleep. ~netswan |

Thanks for the laugh Netswan, I suggest putting a padlock on his belt taht is what my parents did with me....WOH thinking aloud, ignore the last bit. While it was a fun poem, I think you summed up the first part beautifully and it is a seperate serious poem in its own right. loved this poem. ------------------------ "I've been too honest with myself I should have lied like everybody else"-Richey Edwards "Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time". Baltimore Grotto "Libraries gave us power Then work came and made us free What price now for a shallow piece of dignity" Nicky Wire, A design for Life. manic street preachers "Rock 'n' roll is our epiphany Culture, alienation, boredom and despair" "To be nobody-but-yourself-in a world which is doing its best night and day, to make you everybody else - means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting." E.E Cummings. |

LOL.....Very cute....Had to much fun with this one It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, a day to love someone, but it takes a lifetime to forget someone. |

Laugh-a-riot here, netswan, brilliantly penned, wonderfully authored... Thanks. regards, sudhir Hey you, out there in the cold, Getting lonely, getting old, can you feel me? Hey you, standing in the aisle, With itchy feet and fading smile, can you feel me? Hey you, don't help them to bury the light. Don't give in without a fight. Hey you, out there on your own, Sitting naked by the phone, would you touch me? Hey you, with your ear against the wall, Waiting for someone to call out, would you touch me? Hey you, would you help me to carry the stone? Open your heart, I'm coming home.... by Roger Waters (Pink Floyd) - The Wall |
