 ~* Fallen Angel *~ She wears a robe Once soiled in shame She’s fell before Though not the same In wildest dreams She’ll touch the sky But sometimes angels Have to fall to fly She’s bore the storms She’s seen the rain She’s looked for truth And felt the pain Through all she can’t Help wonder why It seems that angels Have to fall to fly He looks at her Like none before She sees her scars He sees much more He whispers to her And meets her eyes “All God’s angels Have to fall to fly” And lifted up In wings of love She leaves her past To rise above She takes the leap It’s do or die ‘Cause sometimes angels Have to fall to fly She soars tonight On tarnished wings With voice once mute She proudly sings No longer drowned In tears she’s cried It’s true all angels Have to fall to fly ~For Rodger Who's taught me that it is alright to fall, but even more importantly, how great it can be to fly. I love you  ~Ruth A special thanks too to Michael who posted a poem with the line "Sometimes angels have to fall to fly" several months ago.... an angel's wings are fragile, sometimes they fray and tear. an angel too may fall, her heart you now hold and spare. ******* BEAUTIFUL poem Ruth... wonderful words of how love heals a heart. take care hoot-girl jm I think I could need - this in my life I think I'm just scared - that I know too much I can't relate and that's a problem I'm feeling ... Thank you everyone for the wonderful response to this poem that means a great deal to me. It's wonderful to soar where once I could barely walk David...thank you...it's taken me some time to learn to use these wings. Miss you too my friend |
