I've come to a place
In my life today
Where sadness and pain replace
The happiness you brought my way

You said you'd never go
That you'd be here
I trusted you so
And you took away my fear

You broke my dreams
And crushed my soul
I'm alone it seems
And will never be whole

I thought you were my reason
For life and breath
The changing season
Now becomes my inner death

You killed the hope and the dreams
You laughingly took it all away
Without second thought it seems
As if you knew it would end this way

So walk away, don't look back
And give no thought to me
While I lay here in the black
Hiding so you won't see

Soon the season will turn
And then I'll once again shine
But give me a moment to burn
In the pain that you have made mine

This is my favorite because it was my turning point, in life and in poetry...Thank you S.S. for making me dig!!

Our favorites seem to be the poems that had a sentimental attachment, same with mine that I posted Butterflies.  This was a wonderful verse ... I particularly liked your last verse:

"Soon the season will turn
And then I'll once again shine
But give me a moment to burn
In the pain that you have made mine"

Positive outlook at the end to move forward ... well done!

Best wishes,
/Kit

Butterfly.....This one still overwhelms me when I read it.........

I think I could need - this in my life
I think I'm just scared - that I know too much
I can't relate and that's a problem
I'm feeling ...
If you're gone - maybe it's time to go home
There's an awful lot of breathing room
But I can hardly move
If you're gone - baby you need to come home
cuz there's a little bit of something me...
In everything in you.

Butterflies DC~

This was an excellent choice to
JM's challenge. I really loved this poem-
full of such sadness YET also full of such
hope for tomorrow. I am glad that you had
a turning point and dug down deep into your
inner-self...that is not an easy thing to do
I admire you and wish you much love and
happiness for the future. Now if Janet would
let us take a breather...that'd be nice lol.
Just kidding Jan...ya know I love you. Great poem you got here.

WOW words straight for the heart. thanks for sharing a wonderful poem, I really love the last verse. We all have to have time alone to release our pain before we continue living.

Hi
They were really beautiful words. I begin to love nature when I lost my love. Eventhough I'm alone I'm beginning to like it for it'll change only with seasons but human minds take only a fraction of a second to change. It's all sh**.

Sincerely
