Official forms ask
what your name is,
your gender,
and your race...
I always write
that I belong to
the human race.
They always "t-s-k"
at my reply.

One helpful official
presumed to write
my race in for me,
and I was sad
and angry
that she
took such liberty
with my official form.

Official forms don't
tell a story
about who am I,
they just give
the pencil outline
and they never
intended to
fill the middle in.

~Oh so true...and I too stop and think about these very things when filling out these forms.  Thanks for the read.

You got it right Jana...I don't like filling out the long ones.   James
