Life is Like a River

Down the mountain and gushing over
into a foamy brine hitting rocks,
gathering logs, and pushing on -

Some of the water smoothly flows
into the valley below,
nothing jumps in its way as it
glides down easily to its
destiny.  *It was an easy life*

Other water hits a rock and splashes up
to seep later into the ground  - *Life
has its disappointing moments*

And some water traps itself into a pool
and stagnates there in a place -never
getting free - *a very sad life*

Other water gathers and struggles with
pebbles and branches and pieces of
glass and almost gives up but finally
reaches  the sea
*Life can be rather normal*

Then some of the river water
will stampede all in its path
breaking trees and throwing
fish off their path to get
to the sea. *Life has selfish people*

Water, it seems, is just like life
*Life is like the river trying to
reach the sea*

Netswan,

So very true my friend!!  I love the images that come to mind when I read this.  Life is all of that and so much more.  Great expressive writing!!!
