look at me.  do you see me smiling?
look again. do you still see it?
ever wonder what's behind a smile?
sometimes i wonder what a smile really is,
because sometimes i smile,
when i'm really not smiling at all.
Its almost become a habit.
something just to do to keep people thinking
i'm the same smiley person i've always been.
i wonder what would happen
if i just stopped smling one day.
would i float off into nothingness?
or would people still refrain from seeing the truth,
and accept the straight line
just as they would a smile.
maybe thats why
its so easy just to keep smiling.

I really enjoyed this poem.  I feel that many people simply smile to hide what they're feeling inside and no one takes the time to see past the facade.  Very touching.  I loved it!
