We, the People

We, the people of this planet,
are the advenced ones.

We, the people of this world,
can solve our own problems.

We, the people of this country,
feel stress and grief.

We, the people of this province,
can't decide what's to be done about anything.

We, the people of this region,
step on faces and hug others.

We, the people of this town,
can feel sorrow and grief.

We, the family of this house,
hold our faces in our hands.

I, the soul of my body,
scream night and day, in a void of anguish and pain.

NOTE   This poem has nothing to do with me.
              I just like depressing poetry.

Interesting.   I enjoyed this one.

Nothing can deter a poet, for he is actuated by pure love. Who can predict his comings and goings? "Thoreau"

I don't see this as depressing so much as challenging...makes me think..and that's a good think. Welcome to the family here!

This is very clever and it speaks volumes about the big lie and of ongoing social break down (at all levels).  I like the message and your style of delivery.  Thanks for sharing.

We, the people. It is all true, well said. As humans we are good at double stanards, we are complicated creautures with the capacity to love and hate, create and destroy.  A powerful poem, maybe one day will end the struggle within our souls and  focus on living in harmony.

"Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time".

Then work came and made us free
What price now for a shallow piece of dignity"
Nicky Wire, A design for Life.

Culture, alienation, boredom and despair"
