Leaving
this catch of breath
and gem of laughter
squinted eyes pooled with pondering
a song’s sigh.
Just toss this seeping hold
with your silver threads blown back
into the sun
as speed curls your grasp
of ticking time
where in dread of sleep
darkness folds and is forever.

Sharp surfaces of time
torn into minutes
fleeting as a blink
fall and echo with words,
such listening
holds you together
with memory

This shape believes
you with it’s surface
still warm
and I touch the fold,
the crease that remembers
and sink into the curve of you.

Memories are so incredibly powerful Martie...I often think "thank heavens I have them" but then sometimes, I wish I could wrap the blanket of emptiness, curl that soft pink fluff under my nose and leave the memories for the future...

Martie, my friend~
How tender the refrain that touches
a loved ones goodbye.
I marvel at your words so tender.
Much love to you.

The last verse has an almost zen feel to it,
a feeling of total peace, for me anyway. Beautiful.
