As I sit here and sip on this Mountain Dew
I wonder if what people say is true
Is life just a series of moments to grasp
Or will this all fall away at last
I don't know what is the purpose to existence
But I'll work as long as I can to perfect it
Sometimes as the smoke clears the air
I put my sunglasses on to avoid the glare
Creation is a sequence of chances
Sometimes I don't know if I can manage
I feel so completely overwelmed in this life of mine
With nothing to feel but misery and strife
Some look at the pack of Marlboro's as half empty
It's probably because they want one's sympathy
Who knows why things end up the way they do
I feel better knowing that people feel the same way I do
So as I sit here and sip on my Mountain Dew
I don't have the answers like some think they do

I think we should live for the moment the present but at the same time be aware of th future, have fun but don't neglect your responsibilities.

Creation is a sequence of chances
Sometimes I don't know if I can manage
I feel so completely overwelmed in this life of mine
With nothing to feel but misery and strife

we all feel these things sometimes,
enjoyed your poem. I don't think anyone has all the answers if they do then their lives must be really boring.

"Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time".

Baltimore Grotto

"Will you accuse me as I hide Behind these layers of disguise And the mirrors of my own happiness.I've loved the freedom of being inside
Need a new start and a different time
Something grows in the space between me
And it's twisting and changing this fragile body" -Nicky Wire

Interesting thoughts...I put my sunglasses on to when I meet people that think they know it all and have all the answers.  Truth is we all have our journeys into the valleys and to the mountain top...some just won't admit it.   Do I sound like I have life all figured out..ha..ha.....James

Sounds like you've figured some things out...enough to know not to claim that you know it all, anyway.  Enjoyed the poem.
