Bandaged Wrapped in arms, tightly loved No other than I could be forsakened more Then when the arms fell away And no longer was I protected. True to myself, I wished no harm Onto the broken promises shattered again I sought to bandage my wounds But yet, why could I not stem these tears Falling still until tears faded For nothing could tell tale of the pain the pain of watching myself pull away [helpless as a bystander, tied] watching myself break away [unable to pick up the pieces] breaking away to nothing [I cried for this] nothing but wounds re-opened [sobbing again for another cycle] re-opened for me to bandage again Heart weakened, faith shaken, love lost I knew this happenings all to well Yet here I am -again- Crying over the pain Weeping over the losses Sobbing when I knew the ripples Were not unlike those I knew before That these stitches I sew follow lines I drew long before, again and again over That this glue to attach the pieces into a whole Had weaknesses I viewed so many times The rope I tied unraveling... The walls I built crumbling... Haunted by these memories Memories I had wished never to remember again So when I agonize over piecing myself together I know this time, in my head My heart Inside That I'm not truly me And all I am is artwork Held together loosely Kept because I am a life Unkept because I was broken But I'll never be the same For all I'll ever be is someone Only kept together with thread Always bandaged And bandaged again "Sometimes stars can only be seen in darkness." "Sorrow's crown of sorrow is remembering happier things." |

Astraea~ Hon, we are all made stronger for the 'patchwork' pieces of ourselves. Like the Phoenix .. you shall rise ... better than before ... for you have the strength of experience and it's a strong mortar to bind the walls of your heart. Cry your tears ... and then ... climb. Anyone who writes this poignantly is stronger than she realizes. I believe in you ... ![]() *Hugs* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Astraea, welcome back my friend. . . you've been gone too long. . . Those bandages can only make you stronger. . . and stronger you will become. . . and probably already have. . . Indeed welcome back Astraea. I've missed you greatly. This is extremely powerful..you've gone through such pain, that is obvious. I too have gone through much pain recently and I can relate to how you feel that you aren't yourself anymore because of your weakness. With time I've learned that the weakness is as much a part of who I am as the strengths. Cry it out, wipe those tears, and do what you can to move on my friend. And be sure to come to us or e-mail me ([email protected]) if you need an ear. ![]() *Krista Knutson* ~Upon pearled wing love's fantasy takes flight~ |

Very vividly written I have to agree with Marge on this one We are all made stronger through the patchwork of our lives Writing has been a big help in healing for me personally, hope it has the same effect on you ![]() All my love, Jeffrey I lie awake in a world filled with dreams, but dreams can be so real when you don't know you're asleep |
