O' precious Rose, I see thy face aglow,
At eventide, when I in dream retire,
Upon my soul, thy tenderness bestow,
As touched upon, by depth of thy desire.
Fair Rose, dear creature of my night's rejoice,
When I upon thee gaze, mine heart doth quiver,
In sweet anticipation of thy voice,
A satin bloom, unto me deliver,
Aglaea, sweet Grace of Splendor sent,
As meadows washed in rain, untrodden snow,
A joy unblemished, thy love transcendent,
From forth thy lips, as honeyed mead doth flow.
Thou art Calliope, goddess of night,
Thy beauty fair, outshines the welkin light.

Mike, the beauty of your words to rose is enough to make the moon blush.

How many times am I in awe of you, how many words can express the emotion I feel from your poetry, A thousand words cannot compare thee, to the beauty, the love, felt from thy hand of romantic poetry!!!!

How funny, and kinda spooky!  As I was reading this, I too, was thinking it sounded so Shakespeare, and then I nearly died when PdV said the same thing!  hehehe  Very cool!  I do love your poems of love sir...they flow so beautifully!  I'm glad to see you back posting btw...missed your verse to say the least!
