Please don't tell anybody yet,
I've sneaked out of "the Prayer Closet"
To once again rejoin the race,
To meet new Friends, and show my face.

I've been "in the closet"--until of late,
I thought that I would suffocate.
It gets quite stuffy, what with all them candles,
So I left them within, with my beads and sandals.

I want to kind of blend in here,
With some new friends, and find laughter
No, my faith, I abandon not,
But there's more to life than the Closet lot.

So help me friends, here to adjust,
Help me make it--I'm going for bust.
I'm out here, a new leaf to turn,
So many things, I want to learn!

Please don't send me back to my room,
I don't want it to be my tomb.
I want to live life, before I die,
Being open to new Ideas to try.

So let's celebrate my coming out,
The time is right, there is no doubt!
I'll find time elsewise to study and pray,
But just for now, let's enjoy Today!

Come on out then!   Nice poem here with some wonderful thoughts.

David~
Nice to see your smiling face
among the friends in Open-Space !
Knowing 'spiritual' also dwells
among the other spaces well.
Another slice of life to try
as the candle burns brightly inside.

I know David closets can be very crammed and you have to sleep standing up, I never got the hang of that. Wonderful, welcome out into the wide space, no more getting clothes hangers in the eye or coughing from dust or choking on moth balls.

Thank you all for your warm reception. I used to think open Forum away too much-too fast-but you all do slow down to smell the roses.  I like that.
Sunshine, my apologies for the misunderstanding-as some have put it-I'm not running away from Spiritual because of you or anyone else, I just want to check out the other rooms in the Passions Estate. I will support you as Moderator in Spiritual Journeys and encourage others to do the same.

Many thanks to all & have a nice day!   David

David, my comment was intended in the lightest of fun and good-nature...I was making fun of me...and I am more than pleased to see you here, as I will be to see in most every forum that you visit to spread your wings and lift us all...

dear David
I'm afraid the pleasure wasn't mine
To know you in your garb divine
No matter what you choose to wear
The inner you is always there
The only closet that I find
Is that encased within your mind
The garments in the closet stay
The heart is what is on display
So sharpen up your poet pen
And join the laughs and quips, my friend
And let us see what's on your mind
I hope it's peace that I will find
Love
Liz
