Falling AwakeSoft shadows on the window's sill as daylight's drawn a ragged breath Low calling of the whippoorwill first signs of spring amidst scents of death Finely fragrant, as dogwood teases the moistened morning's vision Succintly savors and somehow sees o'er the nearing apparition Draw nigh, come forth lost labouring soul, encumber not Perdition Unburden the sallow, ponderous load swelling full with each confession Lilt lightly upward, newly borne, all grace and tenderness bestowing Embrace the cockcrow, the sudden morn... your Freedom's come with Knowing Claire |

You pen equally with splendor of the dawn as of the night. First signs of spring harken thee to exquisite beauty my friend. |

Kit, Severn, Kathleen, Dark Angel, Seymour, Rex, Denise, Martie, Sven, David, and Mike...thank you, in earnest, for reading this and responding with such lovely and encouraging returns. Today has been my birthday and I have been also preparing to move to the new (old!) house, so I have just now been able to connect online, only to find these delightful and generous remarks from each of you. I am so glad that you found something to enjoy in this piece and I thank you for letting me know. ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

Lilt lightly upward, newly borne, all grace and tenderness bestowing Embrace the cockcrow, the sudden morn... your Freedom's come with Knowing a fantastic poem, beautiful images and I love the title "falling awake." ------------------------ "Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?
