Star spangled banners, hot dogs and rye, I'll tell you my story, it makes me cry! Now holiday I went, the US the place, a few weeks past, and the US was ace. Big cars cheap fuel, and the land of the free, unless your a person like me. Pizzas and tacos I thought I died, but no, this is lifestyle, stateside. Service was good, and money went far, spent all night in the hotel bar, Made some friends, and a vista they drew, life here Rich will be fantastic for you. Passionate about living in this land, until the INS dealt me a hand, Permit for work, permit for me, Not what I expected from the land of the free. Now dream I do, and dreams I make, I'll get my permits for heavens sake. -Rich- (English? -pah! I was once proud of my country) |

I was in America once myself, I know it can be hassle when you move somewhere getting work permits and things like that. I have a friend who went through something simpler in Australia. enjoyed the poem ------------------------ "Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too? " Douglas Adams. "Here chewing your tail is joy" Richey Edwards "Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time". Baltimore Grotto |

Hi Rich - In the last 25 years, all I can say, is each day we lose another freedom, another right - and another law is made. The only thing I do know is that freedom is never really freedom IT is a responsibility. ---welcome to America, Rich! I imagine after England you are lovin' the wide open spaces and the girls are swooning over your accent! Great Poem ----thanks for writing it. It needed to be written. ~netswan |
