It shouldn't hurt to be a child Abused with his hope defiled Growing up before his time Victim of a horrible crime Beaten for a senseless reason Childhood just a passing season Scars remain forevermore Sparking emotional civil war One shouldn't fear a father Or, for that matter a mother Parents are here for emotional support Not to cut childhood short |

This was excellent. Very short, powerful and too the point. There are people out there that just don't deserve the title of "DAD" or "MOM". Challenge very well met. Thank you for posting your poem for the cause. Marina |

perfect Mistik, you are wise beyond your years, very well written truths in this. take care, jm Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders And it makes me want to touch you there. And the light in your eyes makes me feel Like there's something much better out there Something kind... And I know someday I might be looking around Trying to find some purpose Well purpose it can't be that hard to find As long as I've got the wind... The wind and your love to carry me. vertical horizon |

Right On!!! What you say is so true. Children are a gift and should be treated accordingly. They shouldn't have to fear their parents! I like how you've boldly put this! <*\\\>< When you can't make up your mind, Which way is right for you, Stop and softly ask yourself, "What Would Jesus Do?" |

Beautiful and a reminder to all that the children we have been blessed with or the children that we have in our lives somehow are the little angels in our care...they should be treated as such. Hold me for yesterday Kiss me for tomorrow But love me for today. |

Such a true and beautiful poem... (sorry for the late reply!) "We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." -Oscar Wilde |
