Isn’t It Mysterious

Isn’t it mysterious
how we can have total
wisdom and insight
in regards to others problems
yet lack the ability
to
solve our own.

Who can “not” give
good counsel it’s
relatively cheap in fact
it coast nothing,
and
we are “oh” so willing to give it.

Our problems are hooked
to us with emotion.
Delusions of guilt, love,
anger, hope
making it a personal matter.

Detachment being the key
to solving others mishaps
is also ours as well,
when we’re
in this state of upheaval.

Where our intelligence
may see and understand the
solutions we’re unwilling
to change our behavior
leading us into despair.

My rock mass of intelligence
now becomes my reluctance
to move towards change,
thus the solid foundation I
have built has weaknesses.

To be a little wiser,
a little infantile,
a little happier,
and a little miserable
is always been my “choice”.
But also one if I took
the “chance” could
“change” and growth
would accrue.

Do I really believe in myself
enough to solve
what comes so easy
as counsel to others.
Or
Shall I stay just a little while
longer in this state of
delusional wandering.

Cerenity-1~
I, too, can not solve my own problems and often wonder why that is when I am the one who solves others.  What a wonderful poem.  Thank you for sharing.  I look forward to reading more of your work

Cerenity,
You have wondered far afield
With little in yield but a shield.
But of poems you are alone
And a wonder you have sown.

Very well said, in fact I can't think of anything else to add. A fantastic poem.
Your poem reminded me in a round about way of a quote from Douglas Adams.

"Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so".
Douglas Adams
Last Chance to See

"Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too? "
Douglas Adams.

Small Black Flowers That Grow In The Sky

"You have your very own number
They dress your cage in its nature
Once you roared now you just grunt lame
Pace around pathetic pound games

Wanna get out won't miss you sensaround
To carry your own dead to swing your tyre tricks
Wanna get out here you're bred dead quick
For the outside,
The small black flowers that grow in the sky

They drag sticks along your walls
Harvest your ovaries dead mothers crawl
Here comes warden, Christ, temple, elder
Environment not yours you see through it all

Wanna get out won't miss you sensaround
To carry your own dead to swing your tyre tricks
Wanna get out here you're bred dead quick
For the outside,
The small black flowers that grow in the sky

Here chewing your tail is joy"

I'm sure we can all relate to this, Cerenity. It is so much easier giving advice than taking it ourselves.

As you have said detachment is the key. It's so easy to see what is obvious when it is not clouded with emotion.
You have expressed this point very well.
thanks

Well said Cerenity. . . it's always like that. . . we can see the problems of others, but can never see our own. . . it takes an untwisting of the mirror to see and acknowledge our problems to ourselves and work on them. . . something that I'm trying to do right now. . .

Excellent poem. . .

Cerenity~
Very strong thoughts you expressed, my dear.  I have often found that when I need to solve a problem of my own, I have to completely shift my own perception of the reality around me.  I like the thoughts you put into this one.

HI ALL

It seems you could go on forever giving advice but then one day you find yourself at a point in life that calls on you to make some very importanant choices and you suddenly  realize you don't know how to becuase you were to busy taking care of everybody elses lives. And maybe you were able to walk through most of your life with blinders on to the truth about how life really is good or bad and did not have to make any major distions until POW one day you don't like what you see in front of you well now the landscape in front of you is just alittle rockey, or should I say (MAJOR BOULDERS)This is were I sit rocks ville common name don't you think! ROCKS VILLE USA I guess I could look at this turning point in my life as a wonderful NEW challenge and in my hands is a jack hammer (hehehe) I love this place passions don't YOU

Love all of you muches and thank you so much for all of your kind words.

Lots of good thoughts and lovely writing..I find that my emotions get in the way too much when making decisions for myself.  James

Lovely thoughts here Cerenity -
I have run advice columns, so easy to
give then when one is emotionally involved,
but yet, when I am emotionally involved
I know what I should do ------

though, being involved makes the decisions
one has to do, very hard - but truly one
should realistically know what they need to
do to improve their own lives and do it,
sure would save a lot of regrets later.

Wonderful inspirational thought provocative
