One More Roll |

Aches, and pains, and bruises, and always on the go. Whether he wins or loses, he has to rodeo- Ft. Worth is his first stop, Las Vegas is his goal- Ten head, a shot to win it all; he’ll give her one more roll. One more roll, another card, or mailed in entry fee… It is a vicious cycle, but at least he’s living free. Twelve years on the circuit, he’s never placed real high- By now he knows he never will, but still he has to try… He’ll never be a Freckles Brown, or be a Donnie Gay- Or ride like old Ty Murray, but he keeps on anyway. Those roadmaps on his features, all say he’s growing old- But still he packs his riggin’ sack, to give her one more roll. One more roll, another hand; just one more entry fee- I guess you’ve figured out by now, I’m singing about me… A cowboy, born with itchy feet; if I never make my goal- No one can say I didn’t try, I’ll give her one more roll. < !signature--> Visit My Home Page http://www.geocities.com/montcogunslinger/Traveler.html [This message has been edited by Gunslinger (edited 05-22-2000).] |

Excellent, John! You know, I think one of the best character traits that someone can possess is that of never giving up. A person certainly attains more than if they had never tried or quit trying even though they may not reach their ultimate dream. Denise |
