We often take for granted… The things most pertinent… To love, and life, and happiness- Then wonder where they went. Ignoring in our passions- And often, vain pursuits… The very things in life in which True happiness has roots. Pursuing wealth, which once acquired Enslaves it’s holder well… And turns a life, once carefree- Into a living hell. Desiring in our folly, Some beauty to obtain And like the moth, foolhardy We perish in her flame. Ah, poor fool, and deluded… Your lusts will lead you wrong. Take heed to what you’re doing- Ere you look, and find life gone. |
