i am inside sugarland and trapped
i wonder how to escape
i hear them laughing
i see their fingers pointed at me
i want to be somewhere else or nowhere at all
i am inside sugarland and trapped

i pretend i'm unhappy
i feel wonderful here
i touch nothing
i worry about leaving
i cry when i see it from afar
i am inside sugarland and trapped

i understand that sugarland as a whole is a hole
i say i need to leave
i dream of escape
i try to escape
i hope to leave
i am inside sugarland and trapped

Wow.   Challenge well met I think, and very interesting I must say.   I hope to see more from you.

Gnosis~

'i want to be somewhere else or nowhere at all'

Sometimes, it's a 'nowhere' kind of day !
Been there and will probably visit again !

Enjoyed your first post ... welcome to Passion's.

Hello, J..... Nice to see you again.. .. Few of our Passionate folks know what a good poet you are, because they weren't with us in the "day of the blue page"... hehe... I'd really like to see you post more - You've got the rhythm, ya know???.. Keep 'em coming, my friend...

thanks for all the nice responses! i really appreciate the welcoming. and thanks to you Nan! i may write some more to post on here. everyone can check out my site http://members.aol.com/jasonschm/ i've got some lyrics on there..
unfortunately you can't TRULY enjoy my poem unless you live in sugarland.. it's funny and sarcastic and true and serious all at once... i guess it's one of those "you have to be there..." type things... but thanks for understanding hehe
