A feast before her countenance does lie it's riches not yet fully are revealed What takes to whet this appetite none may speak true , in depth the answer lies concealed As night befalls the land of those who sleep she conjures words to stay the hands of time Evokes from them that which she wills to keep a feather-bed of words in wraps of rhyme Her breath in lyric fashion lay inscribed on sheets of parchment touched with skill-full ink That those who see must feel as though imbibed of more import than fruit fermented drink She squanders not one whit of precious day For her there's far too much that she must say |

Dr. Moose, You seem to conquered the sonnet format completely. This was very good! David2 |

Yes, you have become obsessed! Just like me! I think in iambic pentameter now, but I like it! It's so melodious......hehehehehe This is a beautiful sonnet, Dr.Moose! I absolutely love everything about it! A challenge now I offer up to thee Please pen a sonnet done acrostic'ly! Denise [This message has been edited by dsnyder (edited 05-12-2000).] |

Beautifully written, to be sure. "Smitten" might be another word to consider... But seriously... your lovely archaic phrasing, rhythm and theme are superb here, Doc. Would that a poem of this caliber ever be written for me, I would find myself indebted, fully and infinitely, to its author. ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

Dr~ So good to see you. This is simply beautiful. And the answer is YES ! Admittedly 'obsessed' ... and loving every minute of it. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Well here you go ladies... d. As much as you have given to this site Perhaps is some small way this will repay Often you bring you're own special insight Entwined within the words you have to say Many are the times that we've looked to see Familiar signatures beneath what's writ One that we notice much more frequently Really has your name all over of it Denise, please do accept this slight tribute Encouraged by your kind words we have found New reason to put pen to words long mute In silence now no longer they are bound Suffice it to be said with certainty Everyone here with me on this agrees Doc [This message has been edited by Dr.Moose1 (edited 05-14-2000).] |

Claire, The pre-dawn light a grassy spanse enshrouds No murmor of it's life as yet does stir The silent mist enshrines this hallowed ground Each verdant frond with purpose waits for her She speaks a language to which they respond Surrender nights lethargic stasis held Mere breath from her of words does break this bond And through her art the mists are now dispelled Her name is one she takes from settings thus Deservedly for imagery she shares Serves often to inspire the rest of us This "Meadowmuse" that fondly we call Claire This glade she bathes in light found from within Awaits , don't hesitate , Dear Claire , begin |

Marge, Your kindness shows through all the words you speak In debt I pen this oh so meager piece Though most often my words are tongue in cheek No such frivolity shall I release But were I to I know you'd understand And not take what I've said in the wrong way This serious piece that I once had planned May not turn out with quite what I would say Sometimes I must succumb to that one half Though there are times when seems to be much more And do most anything for a good laugh Is there much wrong with that , I do implore ? Despite this quite pronounced propensity Please know that your kind words mean much to me . Doc [This message has been edited by Dr.Moose1 (edited 05-14-2000).] |

Dr. Moose, you are a sweetie! I knew you could do an acrostic sonnet, I just knew it! What I didn't know was that it would be for me! I'm touched! Thank you for your lovely poem! The ones for Claire and Marge are also very lovely! Can't wait to see the one for Nan! Denise |

For Nan , The glow of phosphor rays casting their light on her as long she sits into the night Intent on lending help to those in need maid fair we are aware of your kind deeds Think not that we don't recognize your gifts your presence on this site our spirits lift Though I may be the one these words to pen all would agree with this over again Accept theses few small words of humble praise Scarce will they compensate for all the days you've spent in helping us to get it right Perhaps they'll bring you warmth on some cold night And now a word from one who's screws are loose Thanks Nan , for all the fun , yours truly , Moose |

Please forgive me, Dr. Moose, for silence thus As unaware of lovely verse inscribed for us You'd placed upon this Passions Scroll for all to read Displaying, sweet, a gifting true of word and deed Dr. Moose, these are "all" quite luminous...I admire your talent! (and thank you, fully and infinitely, for inclusion in your presentation) ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |
