The Candle As time passes on, the more we learn, No matter what happens, the candle will burn. It sits in its holder still as the night, Giving everyone around a glimpse of light. Generations will pass, centuries will turn, But yet the candle continues to burn. What puts it out is a gust of wind, But someone will come and light it again. This flame is something for which we yearn, Amazed by the feat of its talent to burn. It signifies peace at many events, Maybe the reason for which it was sent. Admire this candle, we all will do, Whether we're happy, or whether were blue. It's been with us time after time, Knowing it's neither yours nor mine. For it belongs to everyone here, Burning forever without any fear. Days go on, and on go days, Gradually the flame descends to a haze. A lifetime of memories come to a halt, The candle died, it was no ones fault. Being through all the twists and turns, This candle no longer burns. |
