Keeping the Muse Amused My muse had left (I thought she died) She came back real late last night. When I had posed the inevitable question, She simply said she'd gone on vacation. She said she needed to explore the world, Take time to herself, let the wings unfurl. To find new avenues of rhyme and prose, As well as shop for some brand name clothes. She'd been to Rome and travelled to France. Went to Spain to learn Flamenco dance. She partied hearty in ol' Mexico And gambled for a week in Monte Carlo Spent some time in the land of Oz, And took pictures of prints of kangaroo paws. Went on to Africa's Serengeti Plains And romped alongside big cats with manes. Flew off to New Zealand and tasted some fruit Kiwi it's called and then on to Beirut From U.S. to Europe, to Asia, and more. Learning of rhyme and the clothing stores. She's a jet set lady, winging about, Conquering the world with poetic clout. But what bugged me most, as she unpacked her grip, Was "How in the world did she finance that trip?" Sven...couldn't be my credit card. I keep that pretty well maxxed out LOL. Convention? That's possible. Muses are such funny creatures sometimes. Jeffrey...so sorry to hear she may have seduced you into giving up your bank account access or maybe she seduced a sexy bank employee lol Bobbycat....now I'm not sure she went alone. She probably had to have help with her larceny so.... did you check the jails lol and for all of you....thanks for the great replies Poetry~ Words falling on paper, painting a dream. Shawna R. WildChild~ How delightfully amusing. Those little muses do have a mind of their own, don't they. Enjoyed very much. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |
