The River Walk ~First Knight~ Pressed against your back, my head upon your shoulder. Winds of love between us, the night is growing colder. Arms around your waist, my hands upon your own. For any who should see us, my love for you is shown. Lights begin to shine, and dance upon the night. Music in the air, smiles of pure delight. We stand along the rail, upon the rivers edge. I give my love to you, this my love "I pledge" Whispers in your ear, of my heart's one true desire. To be your only calling. the one who sets your fire. Kisses upon you neck, a word of love or two. I would give my life tonight, just to be with you. A man does not love a woman because she is beautiful...But she is beautiful because he loves her. |

This is fabulous writing, and to get to the end to find your all alone just made my heart sink. |

This is a beautiful poem David and it was written beautifully but it makes me sad. When you are old and grey and full of sleep, And nodding by the fire, take down this book, And slowly read, and dream of the soft look Your eyes had once, and of their shodows deep; How many loved your moments of glad grace, And loved your beauty with love false or true, But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you, And loved the sorrows of your changing face... "I would give my life tonight just to be with you." Lovely, lovely thoughts and desires that I hope will come true for you as you both walk by the river. James |

David...what a beautiful, yet sad, expression of your longing. Your poetry always touches places deep inside of me. Miss you Ruth |

David, Very strong and touching poem. I would give my life tonight, just to be with you. What is the measure of true love? I think these two lines say it all !!! ~you reached inside, you touched my heart, and I am all the better for it~ Terry A. Woodson, Jr. |

This was so dreamy, and then the ending was so profound. The depth of your feelings are very easy to see. BTW, I love your signature quote! Lori ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean. Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens. Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance. And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance - I hope you dance. song by LeeAnn Womack ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
