The shudder of light on my mirror glides slowly into my room, illuminating the specs of dust as stars drifting through infinite space. The shadows shift playfully to accommodate the passive morning. I turn from dreams preserved as brief flashes and emotions with no real clarity. Their messages, that could have educated, are lost as I first open my eyes. I move meekly, not sure of this place; so alien and fascinating. I try, with no success, to suppress my will to consume every new detail. All these objects are strangers in need of introduction. I climb rather clumsily over my barrier into this new world, thankfully unaware that in coming years this special magic, this awe, that fuels me will be snuffed out with the disdain of familiarity. |
