Empty air wafts between us As silence lingers gently Our eyes are slowly wandering Wanting simply not to see. Whispers once soul-consuming Now in the distance sigh In a starlit net of tears I wonder if I should even try. You touch me with a silken kiss But absent is your heart And I remember love within When we both played the part. In horizons far away from here Perhaps our fire burns But we will not travel there And find the love we yearn. Instead we lightly smile As our spirits soar apart And cry among the lost and lonely While distant grows our hearts. |

Beautiful poetry. All else I can say is when it seems to be slipping away, get a firm grip on it, and yank it back with as much fury of love as you can muster.
