Fragrant memories laid to rest- In the cemetery of my mind, All hope has been in jest- As pain adorns the days of time... Sheer visions of faint yesteryear- Dwell upon this burial ground, Hissing soft notes upon my ear- Weakened, unable to silence the sound... Remorse does not tread lightly- As it thrives in shallow grave, For tears still find the mighty- My decisions falter and sway... Despondant, I cast away doubt- To rid of this sadness disease, For memories swirling about- I beg of thee, Rest in Peace... Open arms can be the most fragile in the world... Oh I know those nagging memories well---the cemetary of my mind is a bit like Stephen King, I fear...a poem of healing for you I hope...love you still, and glad am I that you are sharing with us again... |

Devina, the memories will fade in time. . . but they never really go away. . . but we have to move on and make new memories. . . hopefully you can with this poem. . . which was excellent by the way. . . I can feel the sadness. . . Profound and beautiful my friend. . . ------------------------------------------------------------- That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |

Devina~ You are precious ! I love it ! Tell it like it is, gal ! You have come so far in your writing. Your heart will take you where you need to be and it won't be to the cemetery ! Love you, my friend. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

The cemetary of the mind, What ghouls might shake thy head. For there may ne'er be peace of mind When you so love the dead... Sorry - just in "that" type of mood I guess. I have read this one a few times through now, I can only say the past most certainly does lie in a "shallow grave". Too often, a good storm exposes what otherwise should be laid to rest forever. Great poem, D. Michael |

Michael is so right...a good storm can expose what once we thought was laid to rest...in so many factions of our lives... You are so right, Devina, in putting to pen what lays unquietly in your mind...sometimes that is just the thing to help us through the unsettled times... well done...
