Yesterday, today, and tomorrow For Tia Yesterday morning I spent with the shrink, explaining the pain and how I couldn’t think. I poured out the sorrow and loss that I feel, but was told I had something that drugs couldn’t heal. after spilling it out, by a calm voice I was told, that in the face of it all I had to this to behold. For there was nothing in me that was anything bad, that it’s OK to be feeling so lost and so sad. I need to be grateful for all the things that I feel, for in them is proof, my heart and soul they are real. Today I spent most of the afternoon in a church, seeking healing and guidance from the pain and the hurts. Yet as on the floor my tear drops they fell all I heard was the silence and the sounds of a bell. For I discovered in time as I kneeled there to pray that my faith, a long time ago, had gone astray. still I stayed there a while asking forgiveness and hope, seeking the strength and the wisdom to cope. Then after I spoke to a close friend on the phone someone who knew what it’s like so alone. In her words I found meanings I needed to hear, thoughts that were in me that I needn’t fear. That love from the heart, once it is freed, will prove that it’s true in words and in deed. That if that love was real on both sides in times such as this in darkness it hides. if given the time and space that it needs it's strength will increase, over doubt, exceed. That I continue to love you in truth and in fact, will provide the hope and the faith I now lack. and in time if you discover that your love is still there, you will find that tomorrow, I am still here. |
