To all who read this, Nathan Ferrian was a very young man I knew. He was truly a precious and beautiful soul. If only every body carried a heart as pure as his. This poem is written in loving memory of him.

~You Still Remain~

I'd always seen you around
You seemed as happy as could be
A friendly and comforting face
You seemed to wear your smile so casually

You had a soul so gentle and pure
A body with such a warm heart
Never would I have imagined so early
From this world you would part

Wonders and regrets so often cloud my head
I only wish I could have known you better
But even if we had been the best of friends
Could I have stopped you from writing that fateful letter?

It's hard to see how all this evil can exist
In and around us every passing day
And then try to understand how one so beautiful
Could be so swiftly taken away

You touched the lives of those who knew you
Because of you, their lives will never be the same
And although physically, you're no longer here
In the hearts of so many, you still remain.

Fading Sun - this is a wonderful tribute to Nathan - I'm sure he would be smiling at knowing you wrote this for him.  We seem sometimes to never fully appreciate the ones around us until they are gone - Peace to you my friend and I wish you sunshine again in your life.

S~
thank you for sharing this with us.
It's so sad to think that so many of us can relate to this sort of a loss and unfortunately we can't understand why??
My heart goes out to you my friend HUG

It is a hard question to ask...hugs.

A very moving tribute.

To this day I still remeber what a good person Nathan was, and could never forget his smile and how it never left his face.
