Agony of parting… Part I ------ People come and go, That’s a tough part of life, Amazing is the fact That their memories are left behind, Like time stamps in a database log, Like footprints in the sand! A few of those prints, a wave and they disappear. For a lucky few, all the waves from the sea can do is colour the marks, making them even so rare. Your footprints They maybe new, I do hope you are from the lucky few. Part II ------- Someone said - "To meet and then part is but a way of life, Which is better than never to met at all." I add - "This way of life promises of further meetings too, And those promises are what will pull this life along." I remnisice - "People come from places and people go to places, It is memories of them that forever remain in place." < !signature--> Take each day as it comes, Consider each day as a flight, Try hard to succeed and fly, Surely then you will reach some height. But if by some chance you don’t, Remember that tomorrow will always come. Learn this well and learn this hard That today’s efforts will pay for tomorrow’s fun. I would not want to but live, whereby I would not e'er meet a life and its tender being, his treasures I would greet. I would not want to let slip by, a solitary soulmate on the path, would I were to comfort him, feed his soul, lend a staff. Nor would I keep this being from his life-long journey's trail, only hope that he would recount to me all the good, and all of his travails. Journey on, kind soul, keep the flame of life well for our meeting, in my heart, will your memory dwell. Well done, Sudhir! [This message has been edited by Sunshine (edited 05-05-2000).] |

People come from places and people go to places, It is memories of them that forever remain in place I can certainly relate to this...I have a treasure chest of memories of one of my closest friends, she is closer now than she ever was even though she is now in Australia. A wonderful poem, much enjoyed. ------------------------ "I've been too honest with myself I should have lied like everybody else"-Richey Edwards "Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time". Baltimore Grotto "Libraries gave us power Then work came and made us free What price now for a shallow piece of dignity" Nicky Wire, A design for Life. manic street preachers "Outside open mouthed crowds Pass each other as if they're drugged Down pale corridors of routine Where life falls unatoned " "To be nobody-but-yourself-in a world which is doing its best night and day, to make you everybody else - means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting." Sudhir, thankyou very much for posting this again.....it would have been a terrible loss not to have read it.... You have portrayed the agony vividly, and so true it is... Thanks once again, regards, shilpi [This message has been edited by shilpi (edited 06-11-2000).] |

Brian, Marcy and Shilpi, Thank you for reading this one... I had first written a part of this on a card that I had prepared myself dor a colleague and friend who was leaving...The good part is that we are still in contact through e-mail... Thanks again for reading. I am very glad that you all enjoyed this...< !signature--> My heart is pounding, my stomach's inside out I'm feeling kind-a-shaky, my mind is full of doubt All I ever think about, is fearing fear itself, Wish I could unscrew my head and put it on the shelf Everything is twisted, everything is oh so tight, Don't know what I'm looking at, the lights are all too bright My brain's about to crumble, spill out on the floor Sweep 'em up. Throw 'em away, don't want 'em anymore Clouds race across the sky, day turns into night, Still there are the questions, no answers in sight Everything is twisted, everything is oh so tight, Starin' out the window, everything is just too bright Brain's about to crumble, spill out on the floor, Wish I could unscrew my head, and kick it out the door... Sudhir-There are definately people who touch our lives in very special ways, if only briefly, I like the way you captured that. |
