I've come to a place In my life today Where sadness and pain replace The happiness you brought my way You said you'd never go That you'd be here I trusted you so And you took away my fear You broke my dreams And crushed my soul I'm alone it seems And will never be whole I thought you were my reason For life and breath The changing season Now becomes my inner death You killed the hope and the dreams You laughingly took it all away Without second thought it seems As if you knew it would end this way So walk away, don't look back And give no thought to me While I lay here in the black Hiding so you won't see Soon the season will turn And then I'll once again shine But give me a moment to burn In the pain that you have made mine Hold me for yesterday Kiss me for tomorrow But love me for today. |

Change seems to always happen. A change that hurts,we usually want it to go away fast but it takes it's time. A good change seems to go away fast but we want it to last. You might not be able to stop change but you can try and slow it down or speed it up or just let it take its course. Metamorphosis, like the caterpillar to the Butterfly. So fly into a new dream.......... |

Ok, how to start... First, I must say that I feel this poem 100%. You've penned my life in yours within a few well-wrought words. Let's dissect this for just a moment, shall we? For life and breath A mistake I myself made. I like how in a few words, you described almost an entire relationship. You've shown how someone can become so important to another, that they virtually live to be with that person. Now becomes my inner death And in a few more words show how damaging that can be if that person "betrays" you. In one stanza, you've taken us from the highest of highs, to the lowest of lows. A-W-E-S-O-M-E! And then I'll once again shine Thank you for this glimmer of hope. Once again, in a few words, you've spelled out a vivid picture! I'm glad to see the ray of sunshine blazing through the darkness of this poem! In the pain that you have made mine And finally, this too I understand. Grief is somethign which has to be allowed to run its course. Again, I understand this, having lived it myself. Peace is a hard thing to find at times, and then only at the end of the pain. Once again, you go from one extreme to the other, slamming us in the face with the harsh reality of abrubt and painful change. I loved this poem, mostly because I empathize with it so much, but also because it was so well written and sincere sounding. |

J.M.* Yes it hurts right now...but this will pass and I'll be stronger for it....at least that's what I keep hearing and soon I too will believe it Thank you for reading and most of all for being there...**AW Hugs** my S.S. Insect* Very true! The trick is to enjoy every moment of the good while you have it! Thank you for reading and for your wish of a new dream Jeffrey* Thank you so much for reading and yes the rest is sure to follow Marge* Change of season...I thought this would be the perfect title....tis time to do some spring cleaning in this heart of mine and your offer of a shoulder and a hug....well there are just no words for what that means to me....so thank you will have to suffice. Christopher* You amazed me..... When you have your heart broken, dreams smashed and soul wripped you feel VERY alone....no matter how many people tell you they understand, and it's often the "get back out there and start fighting" advice that comes...it's nice to know that you understand that there is a time for greif. I think that's what the catipillar does while he is in the midst of change....yes he will be a beautiful butterfly soon....but he's loosing who he was...although not as lovely to look at....it was who he was. Thank you for reading and for sharing your thoughts with me, I'm touched. Hold me for yesterday Kiss me for tomorrow But love me for today. |

Butterflies~ My dear, I am crying with you. You took my breath away with this one. But the pain you will not have to share alone, dear, for your friend is standing right here beside you. ButterfliesDon'tCry, I can feel your hurt too. I know what it is like to go through what you are going through. And your beautiful words describe it so well. I am a friend of TerryW's and he told me that I needed to be sure and read your work. He told me you were incredible. I know now that he told the truth. Trust Instinct. Denise* Thank you for reading and for your replies. Terry* It's a comfort to know that others understand and know that a broken heart is not just a romantic disease but one with a phyisical hurt, thank you for reading and for your kindness. And as I read TFH's reply, It's an honor to be thought of highly, I'm deeply touched. Thank you. TFH* Welcome to Passions, my work is not up to the scale of the other fine poets here, merely ramblings of what's laying inside, But not to diminish the compliment that you have made thank you so much for your kind replies, this said with a sincere heart, for words without meaning are simply a waste of time and space. Hold me for yesterday Kiss me for tomorrow But love me for today. |

Butterflies, this expresses so well what a lot of us have had to deal with and live through. thank you for the read, very nicely done. As for your last comment about not being up to the level of some of the other poets, your much too modest. Christopher gave his his two thumbs up, so I'd say that puts you right up there. Also your romantic ability, is not to be denied, I for one get weak in the knees at the thought of a romantic dual.... but then again the night is young. Parker |

After winter comes spring and summer and then they fade through autumn into winter. And it happens over and over. Now maybe winter for you but again will come spring and summer when your grief has run its course. Let tears heal your soul and you will learn and feel much in your path of sadness. You will find love again. Believe that. Beautiful, heart wrenching poem. Love and hugs, Lizzie "Poetry is the true expression of my soul, it is my ultimate means of communication. It is my rainbow of delight." |

~Butterflies As always you have my support and understanding. This poem was so sad but so well written and beautiful at the same time. I have come to really love and appreciate your work, and you as a person. They say that in order to know love, you have to know pain. I truly believe in that statement. I also believe sometimes we just have to grieve and let whatever our feelings are come and go. That is the only TRUE way we can move on. I can feel the hurt in this piece and in what you are saying...not only because I too have lived it...but because of the vivid imagery and longing that you paint in this. You write with such an emotional depth from inside, that one can't help but feel what you are feeling, at least on some level. Just remember all of us here at Passions is here for you...myself included. You have a beautiful heart m'friend...and one day sunny skies shall grace your life again. In the meantime, take all the time you need to work this out. Best wishes always, Amy ~Live today as though it were your last but prepare for tomorrow as though it were here~ |

I would be remiss if I didn't say that this is a truly powerful and heartfelt poem. . . the longing and pain are readily evident. . .the words sing with loss. . . the "dark beauty" of this poem is absolutely wonderful. . . Now then, fly Butterfly. . . spread your wings. . . fly to one who will keep you close. . . and come back to share with us your tale. . . Simply wonderful. . . ---------------------------------------------------------- That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |
