The Rain The rain falls all around me pouring though my hair saturates my clothes and soaks my skin washes away my cares I raise my arms and begin to dance my face turned to the sky the grass is cool beneath my feet Luna smiles from her home so high I feel you before my eyes see you your spirit calls out to mine I open my eyes and turn to you your smile illuminates the night The rain dances all around us pouring into our hearts moonlight plays upon your face I touch you, unwilling to part You smile again, as if to speak I touch a finger to your lips without a word, I pull you near and bestow upon you a kiss My love, my life, my heart's desire my soul begs to dance with yours our bodies entwine, our hearts inflame this night has opened so many new doors The rain rejoices all around us pouring down fresh and anew this night of union, this time of rebirth, celebrates my love for you. 5/1/00 |

BobbyCat~ This just makes me want to go dancing in the rain. So pretty are your thoughts. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

I know this feeling. Ahem... storytime... A few friends and I were driving home after opening a play, and it was absolutely pouring rain. Tensions were high, and nerves strung tight... We'd all been working hard night after night and we were all dead tired. There was a sense of accomplishment in the air, but we were all carrying the burdens of weeks of work. Arguments, bitterness, numbness and exhaustion. No one said anything, but as we passed a field the driver slowed down, then stopped altogether, and we sat there, looking at the rain, puddleing, splattering the windows... then, as if in collective thought, we all opened the doors and ran out into it. We laughed so hard, danced for hours, kicked up mud, sang, cried, dashed through puddles... it was absolutely the most spiritually cleansing experiance of my life. Now everytime it rains I don't hesitate to go out in it, and let it wash my soul clean again. ...Daysleeper... |

Marge~ thanks you for the compliment; it means so much from you. Parker~ thanks for the haiku! What do you do, just rattle these off the top of your head..?? LOL It was beautiful. Dsnyder, Corazon~ I thank you deeply...maybe we can all go dance in a moonlit rainshower sometime. Daysleeper~ what a great story; makes me wish i could've been there to enjoy it with you! LOL Kitkat~ ...and how refreshing it is. Thank you. Poet deVine~ I have relatives in Arizona, and they say the same thing about that "non-existent" rain there....LOL. Thank you for reading; glad you liked it. |
