Should mortal men whose days are few and as fleeting as midmorning dew evanescing in the sultry sun question the Eternal one? Has wisdom uncreated erred? And yet to think how many dared and ventured to give reason to join this base, foolhardy treason. Should we doubt Eternal Love’s designs? Should we hide away from brazen signs which will and must be seen by all by even those who choose to fall? So tell me which direction should we channel our suspicion, Godward, fleshward, to Deity or man? to berate the impotent, or him who can? To doubters, let the same return. Let spurning be for those who spurn. May caution check each fleshly word and mirror distrust. For how absurd that speech should slander him who gave it’s voice. Doubt, no doubt, must make a choice, Broken cisterns or eternal wells? Denying Christ or infidels? SDJ 7/2002 [This message has been edited by Stephanos (07-17-2002 12:48 AM).] |
