Season of the Rose Within our woods, wild roses grow. You see the rosebuds start to show In June and when they fully bloom, The air smells of their sweet perfume. While walking there, I watch to see The bank of pink, where they will be, Found twining up each nearby tree. I don't know why they charm me so, For other flowers that I know, Are showier and fragrant too, And yet somehow, they just won't do. For when I think of flowered springs, Wild roses are the thought that brings Delight, above all other things! Betty Lou, this is delightful. you are such a dear heart.... the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |

Joyce: Thanks. We have lots of wild roses here on our place and along the roads. I grew up seeing them in Alberta and have always loved them. Betty Lou Hebert |

My husband and I have been making a point of walking and 2 nights ago, we walked along the Charles River in Boston and there were tons of wild roses. I immediately thought of you and this beautiful poem. At one point a wild bunny scurried under one of bushes! Hugs, Marti |
